During these challenging times we have decided to utilize our resources to address the growing need for hand sanitizer. Our community has supported us since the day we started restoring the historic barn where Split Rock now resides. Now, healthcare providers and essential service workers in our community have called on us and we intend to do our best to answer that call.
After much research and discussion with healthcare professionals we realized we could contribute by refocusing our production space to make hand sanitizer. As a distillery we have the equipment and licensing required to produce the main ingredient of the hand sanitizer, ethyl alcohol, and last week we began production following FDA and WHO guidelines to arrive at a non potable 80% Alcohol Antiseptic solution. While our priority is to produce hand sanitizer for hospitals and the service industry, we hope to release a portion of each batch for sale to individuals.
Our tasting room as well as our production facility will remain closed to the public during this time. It is necessary for us to keep our facility closed to maintain the safety of our workers and to keep the environment as sterile as possible during production.
We are proud to be part of a community that comes together to support each other in such difficult times. More than that, we feel humbled to be able to provide a product to the hard working people that are on the front lines fighting to protect the health of others.
